Risk Management Blueprint (2025): TP1 / TP2 / Runner Capital Protection
Risk is a feature, not a bug. This blueprint turns FXPremiere’s TP1 / TP2 / Runner structure into a capital protection system using ~0.5% risk per setup and a ~1.5% daily drawdown cap. Times in GMT.

Principles
- Survive first: Small fixed risk per setup keeps you in the game for the next A+ signal.
- Let structure lead: Stops go beyond invalidation, not fixed pips.
- Partial profits are defense: TP1 reduces exposure and funds the runner.
- Daily cap: ~1.5% DD ends the day. Tomorrow needs fresh capital & focus.

- Emotional spiral from unlimited daily losses.
Position Sizing: The 0.5% Rule
Risk per setup = 0.5% of account. Size from stop distance to ensure a structural SL (beyond invalidation).
Account Balance = B Risk % per trade = r (e.g., 0.5% → 0.005) Stop Distance = S (in pips/points/$ per unit) Value per unit per pip/point = V Position Size (units) = (B × r) / (S × V)
Example: If B=$10,000, r=0.005, S=$50 per contract risk → size = (10,000×0.005)/50 = **1 contract**.
TP1 — Defense First
- Take partial at first structure (FTA).
- Move SL to breakeven.
- Outcome: downside removed; upside still open.
TP2 — Pay the Day
- Next HTF level or measured move.
- Locks a meaningful session win.
- Consider flattening around red news.

Runner — Optional Edge
- Small size only; trail with session HL/LH or VWAP.
- Aim to capture trend days; don’t let it ruin the day.
- No adding unless a new break→retest appears.

Daily Risk Budget
- Max daily drawdown: ~1.5% (≈ 3× 0.5% losses).
- Attempts per session: 2–3 quality signals, not 10 stabs.
- Stop for the day when cap is hit—no exceptions.
Green-Day Protection
- After **+1.0%**: size stays the same (no “house money”).
- After **+1.5–2.0%**: consider no-new-risk rule unless A+.
- Journal the playbook that worked; repeat it tomorrow.
When to Scale
- Only after acceptance and a fresh retest in trend.
- Each add-on is a new trade at ≤ 0.5% risk.
- Never scale into losers; never average down.
When to Reduce
- Elevated volatility (spreads widen, wicks expand).
- Into tier-1 data windows (CPI, NFP, FOMC).
- After a mistake—halve size until 2 clean trades are logged.
Recovery Logic (Math & Mindset)
A −3% drawdown requires ~+3.09% to recover; the smaller the loss, the lighter the recovery burden. That’s why we cap daily DD at ~1.5% and per-trade risk at ~0.5%.
Keep the hole shallow; recovery stays realistic.

- Is SL beyond structure (not an arbitrary pip number)?
- Does size equal ~0.5% risk given the stop distance?
- Is TP1 placed at the first trouble area?
- Will SL move to BE at TP1 automatically?

FAQ — Risk & Money Management
Why 0.5% per setup?
It balances survivability with growth. Three losses = −1.5% (your daily cap), small enough to protect equity and mindset.
Fixed lot size vs. calculated size?
Always calculate from stop distance so the risk stays constant even when volatility changes.
Where should TP1 be?
At the first structure that commonly causes stalls (FTAs: prior swing, VWAP, OR edge). TP1 is mandatory.
