Gold Signals Risk Management (2025): TP1 / TP2 / Runner So You Don’t Blow Your Account
Let’s be real. Most traders don’t blow accounts because they “didn’t know direction.”
They blow accounts because they refuse to secure profit when it’s offered.
TP1 / TP2 / Runner isn’t optional. It’s how funded traders survive.
Gold Signals Risk Management (2025): TP1 / TP2 / Runner So You Don’t Blow Your Account
FXPremiere.com has delivered Gold (XAU/USD), Forex, US30, NAS100 and Crypto signals since 2010.
Every alert is built with scaling logic so you can book partials, reduce risk,
and still ride the move if gold keeps running.
1. Definitions: TP1, TP2, Runner (Stop Guessing)
TP1 — “Secure Partial”
TP1 (Take Profit 1) is your first extraction.
You close a portion of the position here.
This does two things:
- Confirms the bias was valid.
- Instantly reduces emotional pressure.
Once TP1 is hit, you are officially “in profit” for that idea.
Mentally, that matters.
TP2 — “Lock the Session”
TP2 is where you close most of the rest.
This is often the “day made” zone.
Hitting TP2 means:
- Daily target likely reached.
- You can stop trading for the day.
- You’ve stopped gambling and started paying yourself.
Logic: TP1 proves you were right. TP2 pays you. Runner buys you upside without extra risk.
2. The 3-Stage Exit Plan You Must Use on Gold (XAU/USD)
Partial at TP1
You take 30-50% off at TP1. Your brain calms.
You’re no longer desperate for “this one to work.”
Close majority at TP2
You close most size at TP2. This is your paycheck.
You stop caring about catching “the full move.”
Runner with BE stop
Slide stop to break-even or in profit.
Let the market work for you while your risk is basically gone.
If you refuse this process because “I want the whole move,”
enjoy blowing accounts every month.
3. Realistic Gold Signal Example (How to Actually Trade It)
SL 2414
TP1 2426 (close ~40%)
TP2 2432 (close ~50%)
Runner small, stop to BE
How to not mess this up:
- “BUY above 2420 after retest” means you DO NOT buy at 2418 guessing the break. You wait for a clean break and retest confirmation.
- SL 2414 means: if 2414 breaks, the idea is dead. Not “I’ll give it space.” Dead.
- TP1 2426 means: take partial profit here automatically. No debate. No ego.
- TP2 2432 means: this is your payday. This is where you secure the session.
- Runner means: worst case, you already got paid. Best case, you catch the vertical move.
Refusing to take TP1/TP2 is gambling.
Taking TP1/TP2 is funded-trader mindset.
4. The 4 Fastest Ways to Blow a Gold Account
1. “I don’t need TP1, I’ll hold”
Then gold retraces, you panic, you close at break-even,
and you walk away with nothing.
You literally refused to get paid.
2. “I moved SL wider to give it room”
That’s code for: “I ignored risk and now I’m praying.”
A wider stop = bigger loss % = broken prop rules.
3. “I re-entered bigger, I want it all”
After TP1 you’re supposed to relax, not double up.
Scaling back in huge size is how you turn a winning day into a blown day.
4. “No TP, I want the whole move”
Greed guarantees inconsistency.
Funded firms hate inconsistent equity curves.
Smooth equity = payout.
Every blown account story has one of those four lines in it.
5. Position Sizing: How Big Should You Be on Gold?
Here’s the framework funded traders follow with FXPremiere-style signals:
- Risk per trade: 0.5% max. Not 5%. Not 2%. Half a percent.
- Daily total risk cap: ~1.5%. After that, stop trading for the day.
- No revenge entries in New York session just because London loss hurt your ego.
- After TP2 hits for the day, you’re done. You are not obligated to trade late US (19:00–21:00 GMT).
If your risk is controlled, you can survive a losing day.
If your risk is wild, one losing day kills your whole account.
6. When Do I Stop for the Day?
A professional funded trader stops when:
- TP2 is secured (you’re paid, done).
- You’ve hit your daily target in % terms.
- You’ve hit your daily max loss cap (~1.5%).
- You notice you’re entering emotionally, not structurally.
You are not supposed to be in the market all day.
You’re supposed to manage risk, make withdrawal, and log off.

FAQ: TP1 / TP2 / Runner and Risk (2025)
A calm trader sizes correctly on the next setup.
A panicked trader over-leverages.
If you already hit TP2 and you’re done for the day, close it all.
You’re a professional, not addicted to candles.
Anything above ~1% per trade is desperation mode.

So überlebst du mit Gold-Signalen langfristig.
TP1 take some money first. TP2 take most money already.
Runner small-small only, stop at break-even.
Like that your funded account steady, won’t blow.

Final Rule
Taking TP1 and TP2 is not “weak.”
It’s how you stay funded, get payouts, and keep trading tomorrow.
One clean TP2 day per session is worth more than 10 gambler entries.
