What is Psychological Hedging — and Why Use It?
It’s a temporary micro counter‑position opened against your main signal trade when price pulls back into a pre‑defined micro‑level. The goal is not to flip bias; it’s to reduce emotional pressure so you can follow the plan (invalidations, TP ladder) without sabotaging the setup.
Core Rules (Keep it Mechanical)
- Size: 10–25% of main position (never larger).
- Trigger: Only at pre‑marked micro‑levels (e.g., 15m demand/supply inside the HTF zone) with a single retest.
- Exit: Close the hedge at either (a) micro‑target hit, or (b) re‑confirmation signal in original direction.
- Risk cap: Combined risk (main + hedge) must remain ≤ your per‑trade limit (e.g., 1%).
- No pyramid: One hedge per trade. If invalid, close and stand down.

- Main long is active with stop below invalidation.
