How to Trade Forex, Gold & Indices Signals (Step-by-Step Guide for 2025)
You just got a signal. What now? Where do you put stop loss? How much lot size do you use? When do you take profit? When are you supposed NOT to enter?

1. How to Read a Signal
BUY XAUUSD 4008
SL 3994 (risk ~0.5%)
TP1 4018 / TP2 4035 / Runner
Avoid full size before Powell. Take TP1 fast.
That’s all you need to execute without thinking emotionally.
- Entry: where you open the trade.
- SL (stop loss): where you’re wrong, trade ends.
- Risk %: how much of your account you’re allowed to lose if SL hits.
- TP1 / TP2 / Runner: how you exit in stages.
- Context tip: “avoid full size before Powell” = risk advisory.
If your provider doesn’t include all of those, you’re guessing. Guessing is how funded accounts die.
2. Lot Size / Position Sizing (MOST People Get This Wrong)
If you have a $10,000 account, 0.5% risk = $50 max loss on that trade.
That $50 is what you are willing to lose if SL is hit.
For funded / challenge accounts, this keeps you alive and under daily drawdown.
“I’ll just increase my lot size because this one looks perfect.”
That one sentence is why you keep failing funding over and over.
Professionals lower risk when markets are wild. Amateurs double it.
You don’t size based on confidence. You size based on math.
3. TP1 / TP2 / Runner – Exactly How to Exit
Close a chunk of the trade at TP1.
This “pays you now.” It also calms your emotions so you don’t sabotage the rest.
After TP1 hits, move the stop loss on the remaining position to entry.
Now worst case, the rest closes at breakeven, not a loss.
Take more profit at TP2.
Leave a tiny “runner” in case price explodes.
If it moons, great. If not, you already got paid.
This is how real traders turn one clean move into payout money without needing to “hold full size for 300 pips.”
4. Do NOT Enter If You See Any of This
FOMC, CPI, NFP, Powell, unexpected Fed comments, surprise central bank headlines — spreads go insane, slippage ruins stops.
You can’t “outskill” slippage. You just get wrecked faster.
If the signal said BUY 4008 and Gold is already 4022, don’t chase.
You missed it. That’s fine. Another setup will come. Don’t emotionally market-buy 14 dollars late with no structure under you.
If you’re close to your daily max loss, you’re emotionally compromised and at risk of violating prop rules.
You’re not in “recovery mode.” You’re in “protect the account so you can get paid this month” mode.
If you don’t know the exact dollar amount you’ll lose if stop hits, you have no business clicking Buy/Sell.
Guessing size = instant account death on NAS100 / Gold.
Skipping a trade is not weakness. Skipping a trade is how professionals survive long enough to withdraw profits.
5. Which Instruments to Focus On First
Fast, clean levels, amazing for TP1 / TP2 scalps.
But it’s violent around news. You must respect risk.
Indices pay huge moves quickly.
NAS100 especially can delete your daily drawdown in one candle.
Trade continuation, not blind counter-trend.
Slower and more controlled most of the time.
Great for learning sizing and execution discipline.

You don’t need to trade everything. You just need one instrument you understand deeply.
6. Psychology That Actually Keeps You Funded
You are trying to stay qualified to get paid every payout cycle.
A trader who survives 20 boring trading days will out-earn the gambler who hit one 500-pip move and then blew the account.
If you’re tilted, log off.
